David Stauffer Scholarship
The David Stauffer Scholarship is an achievement-based, matching-funds scholarship administered by the Tennessee Home Builders Foundation through the Home Builders Association of Tennessee (HBAT).
It's available to qualified Tennessee students enrolled in — or planning to enroll in — a one-year, two-year, four-year, or certificate program in a construction-related field of study.
In addition to the statewide award, HBAGC provides local matching funds for sponsored students, giving eligible students in the Greater Chattanooga region even greater financial support to pursue their education in the building industry.

2026 applications are now closed.
Final submission deadline to HBAT: March 31, 2026.
Students should confirm any earlier local deadlines with their sponsoring HBA.

Sponsors
The scholarship is funded through the Tennessee Home Builders Foundation, with local matching funds provided by HBAGC.
Members interested in sponsoring a student or contributing to the fund can contact HBAGC staff for details.

Registration Details
To apply, students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be enrolled in or accepted to a construction-related program, submit a fully completed and signed application with no blank fields, include all required transcripts and supporting documentation, complete the required essay, and secure sponsorship from a local Home Builders Association affiliate.
